You know public education is supposed to be a base level education. Kind of just get you to the point where your usual to the society that paid for your education. If you want a good education for your children you are supposed to pay for it yourself. I know quite a few people that are living paycheck to paycheck, but their kids are going to private school. Those are parents that put their kids first. Not parents that expect the world to put their kids first.

What is being talked about here is not how it is everywhere in the US. My daughter is in 5th grade, has STACKS of books(that she chose ), and is always, always reading(her own will) , has a 10th grade reading level, leads her grade in academics. Math club, science club, dance, theatre , basketball. She is already learning algebra etc. My point is; she goes to a small public school (in the middle of no where america) that has some of the highest standards in the state/country. She has never been on(or even interested in) social media. We have solid relationships with the teachers of the school , and they recognize her ambition, passion, creativity , and vigor. The school HELPS with making sure we use all opportunities and resources that are available that SPECIFICALLY help and motivate her foward, and we help the school in return. There are still good schools out there that people act like do not exist; that actually DO HELP the kids learn, as well as teach morals, values, principles, etc. while STILL being able to help mold yheir educations in the direction of THEIR OWN interests. Anyway.....I keep hearing ONLY this narrative, when it seems that its not entirely true. ESPECIALLY when you are from outside of California/certain states. Peace.

I couldn’t imagine early childhood education if I’m being honest, or even education without a rigid structure, but I feel like my parents raised rebels without a cause so when I finally got old enough to start asking why to try and understand their thought processes they just told me a big overarching answer.

I work in a Montessori preschool. There are only two goals: keep kids alive and entertained. I've accepted they are checked out until the new year lol.
